ABS Became Mandatory for N2 Light Trucks in China from July 1, 2016

This legacy industry article explains the implementation schedule of China's GB 12676-2014 braking standard. Under the standard, N2-category vehicles were required to be equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). GB 12676-2014 took effect on July 1, 2015, with a one-year transition period for vehicles already in production. During that transition, manufacturers could choose between the new standard and GB 12676-1999. Vehicles produced after July 1, 2016 were required to comply with GB 12676-2014.
